Creating a new project
To create a new project in WindAnimator, click on File -> New project.
Adding a new animation set to a project
Click on the 'Add new animation...' hyperlink on the left of the main window, just above the 'Animations' list. You will be prompted the a name of the animation (for example, walk left, explode, jump etc.) and a size (in pixels) for the width and height of each frame. You can add as many animation sets as you wish to a project. To show the animation in the editor window, click on it within the animation list.
Adding a new frame to an animation
With an animation active, either click on the '+' button on the main toolbar, or press 'space'. The animation will automatically move to the new frame. Note that the new frame is always added to the end of the animation.
Drawing an animation
With an animation active, click on the pen tool above the canvas of the animation. Clicking on the canvas with the left mouse button will draw with the foreground colour, click with the right button uses the background colour. You can change the pen width and mode using the row of controls under the pen tool. You can change tools and shape mode (filled or outline) using the controls in this section.
Exporting an animation
To export an entire animation set (all of the animations) as a Sprite sheet, click on File -> Export. To export an individual animation as a Spritesheet or an animated GIF, click on the Export button directly on the animation in the animation list.
